About Photosites
A directory built for how people actually look for photographers.
Most of us start with a search engine and hope the right name floats to the top. That works sometimes—but too often you wade through outdated sites, photographers who have moved on, or pages that were never designed for a real booking conversation. Photosites exists to cut through that noise: a curated place where listings are meant to be current, useful, and easy to compare.
Built from two sides of the lens.
This project comes from years as a wedding photographer—learning what couples ask, what they worry about, and what they need to see before they reach out—paired with deep work in search and discovery. That combination shapes how profiles are structured, how locations and specialties are handled, and what we prioritize when we review a site: not just “pretty pictures,” but whether someone can quickly understand fit, coverage, and next steps.
Star ratings are a shaky foundation.
Big review platforms can be helpful, but they are also noisy: reviews disappear without explanation, scores can be gamed, and a single number rarely captures how it feels to work with someone on a wedding day or a brand shoot. We are not pretending reviews do not matter—but we believe discovery should lean on clear profiles, consistent editorial standards, and tools that help you judge fit, not only aggregate sentiment.
Search should get smarter, not louder.
The goal is simple: make finding the right photographer faster and less frustrating. That means thoughtful filters, location-aware browsing, and room to experiment with new ways to explore—so you can move from “too many tabs” to a short list you feel good about. We are early, and the product will evolve; the north star is always the person planning a shoot, not an algorithm optimized for ad clicks.
Connection first—not a billboard disguised as a directory.
Photosites exists to help people meet photographers they will actually want to hire. Featured placements may exist over time, but they will never be the whole story. The point is usefulness: if someone cannot find you, understand you, and reach you, the directory has failed—whether you pay for placement or not.
Transparent numbers for photographers.
If you list here, you deserve to know whether the traffic is real. We plan to share clear analytics—views, referrals, and the kinds of signals that help you decide if this is worth your time—so value is visible, not implied. No mystique, no “trust us, it is working.”
If this resonates, browse the directory or apply to join. We are building in public—and always happy to hear what would make your search easier.
