HEY! I’M JOE I’m Joe Tobiason, a Seattle wedding photographer, and I’ve photographed enough weddings to know that no two days unfold the same way. What they tend to share is a mix of anticipation, emotion, and moments that matter more than anyone expects going in. I pay close attention to pacing and to how things feel as they’re happening, because that’s what shapes both the experience and the photographs. I don’t arrive with a script or a checklist of poses. I show up ready to pay attention, to guide when it’s helpful, and to step back when things are already working. Over time, that approach has led to images that feel honest, lived in, and true to the people in them. Outside of weddings, I’m a Pacific Northwest native who spends a lot of time running, biking, and getting out of town in my VW van when I can. Being outdoors and moving through spaces thoughtfully has a way of sharpening how I observe things, and that mindset carries directly into the ways I photograph wedding days.
