Kate Cashin is a Melbourne family photographer based in the Dandenong Ranges, specialising in candid outdoor sessions for families who are awkward, quirky, or just plain hate having their photo taken. Her approach is relaxed, inclusive, and genuinely stress-free, with a focus on documenting how it feels to be your family, not just how you look. Before photography, Kate spent nearly 15 years with Victoria Police, including time as a detective working with vulnerable and child victims. That background sharpened her ability to build rapport quickly, read a room, and stay calm amid the beautiful chaos that families bring.
