Photographs of people in places that matter. My name is David Enloe, and I'm a Marin-based family and wedding photographer who works on both sides of the bridge — from the Headlands to Point Reyes (or in your own backyard). I prefer photographing on 35mm film, at an unhurried pace. I've heard my pictures described as "rich," and I like that. I've built The Enloe Creative around your experience as much as the images. Presidio Lawn & Tunnel Tops with Grandparents

I didn't know what to expect. It was our first "natural" photography session, and we had three generations in the mix. David is phenomenal at making everyone feel at ease and bringing out smiles from the shyest individuals, from the grandparents to my husband to my 3-year-old toddler. When the toddler wants to keep playing through an evening session, that's when you know David is truly magical. He's responsive, flexible, and prepared, and whether you know exactly what you want or need someone to guide you, he will fill in the role that's needed in the moment.

Story Review

We can't recommend David enough. Before the wedding, he sat down with us and asked all the right questions — whether we wanted posed or candid shots, who we most wanted captured, and the moments that mattered most. We left feeling he truly understood our vision. On the day, he brought a calming presence to what could've been a stressful morning. As I was getting ready feeling chaotically disorganized, I asked if this was "normal." He reassured me it was par for the course and he'd seen far more chaos — I instantly felt in safe hands. He moved seamlessly between candid moments and traditional posed photos. One of my favorite parts was sneaking away from the reception with just Jake, me, and David for a few shots right before sunset. Those became some of my favorite photos of the whole day. Chickens in the Garden and a Family Bike Ride
Story Review

David photographed our family at our home in West Marin last summer, garden, chickens, pool, hammock, blackberries and all. What stood out most was his calming, grounding presence. It felt more like hanging out as a family for an afternoon than a typical photoshoot. He took the time to get to know us beforehand, and that's what made the session feel so relaxed. Our session took place at a remote beach in Point Reyes, which meant an hour's drive and a hike down the trail with two little ones before we even got started. David didn't treat that as a hurdle - he made it part of the story. Communication and planning were easy and organized leading up to our family session, and the day itself was natural and fun. Our girls (a toddler and a five-year-old) warmed up right away, and my daughter actually told David mid-shoot how much she liked him. David captured our family's essence in a single session, and the gallery feels truly inspired. Thoughtful, kind, easygoing, and the images are works of art. We'll definitely book again.

Going into our engagement shoot, we were nervous about spending a lot of money and ending up with pictures that felt awkward. David addressed all of that before we showed up. He's really familiar with Marin and the environment. The info on what to expect (clothing, colors, even the restaurant beforehand) calmed our nerves completely. We felt prepared and comfortable the whole time. We'd work with him again in a heartbeat, maybe for a maternity shoot next!

Frequently Asked Questions

Two main offerings: Inspiration Series, starting at $675, and Custom Lifestyle Sessions, starting at $1,675. Short Films start at $750. Every package includes all your "keeper" images, hand-edited and delivered full-res for download. I never cap what I deliver or try to sell you more.

Yes, a fixed deposit due at signing to secure your date, typically $600–800 depending on session type. The remainder is due 10 days before your session.

Rescheduling within 30 days of your session carries a 25% fee. Life happens though, and I'll always try to work with you if something genuinely comes up.

For custom sessions, 3-6 months out is ideal, especially for weekends and during the Fall. That said, reach out even if your date is close. I often open up last-minute Inspiration Sessions that take advantage of something happening that would make for a great photo session (think wildflower blooms).

I don't use the word "posing." I avoid placing you somewhere that looks like something you're not. I give direction, not poses: walk, carry, sit, look at each other. Move your hands until it feels right, or you laugh because it's silly. I'm watching for the moment that's 100% you.

Point Reyes, the Marin Headlands in Marin. Ocean Beach, Crissy Field, Land's End in San Francisco. These are favorites, but I'm limiting you by even mentioning specifics. This is completely session-dependent. But I am never really limiting what I deliver. I pick all the photos I think you want, edit them by hand, and deliver for download. Digital usually yields about twice as many as film.

4 weeks for digital, 6 weeks if film or video was part of your session. That's what my contract says anyway, though I deliver as soon as they're ready!

Yes, I carry full commercial general liability insurance and can provide a certificate of insurance for any venue that requires one.

I am a huge fan of localizing our lives as much as possible. But I also understand that sometimes you stumble on someone that you just have to have photograph a big family adventure or your wedding day, and they might not be local. If it's the right fit, I'm happy to travel.
